RE: E rated tires PSI for MPG

I am thinking of replacing my P tires with LT load D tires and I found this chart for Goodyear tires. Look on your door sticker for the max axle load then look up you tire on page 7. Example a 4150 LB axle would be 40 PSI

RE: Just towed my TT for the trip and I have questions...

What gear you have? My 03 Express van with a 5.3 3.73 gear pulls my 4700 lb trailer just fine. I am maxed out at 12K total weight loaded. Most of the time I pull with the tow Haul on and OD off. The only time it ever downshifts to 2nd on the highway is through the mountains.

RE: Lt tires

I am happy with the way it tows. I am nowhere near the limit of the stock P235/75/16XL tires. I am 500 lbs under that limit. I have just read that a lot of people switch to LT's tires for towing.

Lt tires

It's getting time to replace my OEM tires. I have P235/75/16XL's on their now and it tows fine. The OEM tires are rated at 2,271@41 PSI and the tuck fully loaded towing is 4K on the real axle. I am thinking of getting a LT225/75/16D rated at 2335@65 PSI or a LT245/75/16E rated at 3042@80PSI both are a BFG Radial Long Trail T/A's. I looked at the rim and their are no markings on max PSI or weight. Witch tire's you think I should go with. I think the 245's will kill the 3.73 gear some. The 225's will help the gearing some. They don't make a 235 in a LT tire. Another question is what presser would I run with the LT tires
Thanks
Jim

RE: Scissor Jacks

Yup, just got a Harbor Freight cheapie 18v cordless($19). I had to switch to the high torque setting but it works just fine with a 1/4 inch hex wrench in the chuck. The high torque setting (one click below the drill holes setting) will drive the jack down against resistance.
It will reduce the whining from my 10 year old since that was one of his CG arrival chores. I'd rather listen to the drill whine than the 10 year old whine...heh.
BK
Please forgive my ignorance but what is a "1/4 inch hex wrench"?
I've looked in person & on the web with no success.
I think what you're referring to a simply a metal shaft - one end is inserted into the drill chuck & the socket is attached to the other end. Please let me know if I'm on the right track or not.
I think your right. You put it in the drill and a put a socket on it

I had to modify it to fit in my Rockwwood 2601. I drilled the 4 holes out and got it down to around 2 1/4 closed

RE: Dry camping without generator?

My dealer told me that the propane leak detector will drain the battery down in a few days. That something you would need to check into if your unit has one. I don't think you would want to bypass it

RE: How Fast to Drive?

How about the speed limit. When towing usually 55 to 65 and sometimes 70. Anything slower your causing traffic flow problems. This would be in good weather conditions (No strong winds, rain or snow)

RE: 2004 Chevy Trailblazer brake lights?

Advanced auto had them for about $20 for both last year. They ordered them for me. I think their called circuit boards.
Auto zone shows them but not available. Call advanced with the part number Part Number: Motormite / Electrical Lighting Socket 70006
